Metal frame

STEP 1

In the following tutorial you are going to learn how to make a nice looking metal metal that you can use on forum signatures. Open your picture you want to add a frame on.

This is what I will use:

STEP 2

Now make a new layer and fill it with a dark grey i used #5C5C5C you could use any color except black and white. Take the Poligonal marquee tool() and make a selection like below(use shift to make straight lines) after you made the selection press ctrl+x to cut it out:

Take the burn tool() with the following settings:

And start brushing, brush till you make it all darker.

Now take the dodge tool() with the following settings:

Use it to make lines light up again all the border then take again the burn tool and burn the edges of it like below:

STEP 4

Go to layer style() and add the following:

This next step will add a pattern.

***The pattern it’s optional thought it gives a nice effect to the border … here is how you do the pattern:

Make a new document size 3×3 transparent. Zoom in till maximum(1600%) and make 3 squares like seen below.

Go to edit>define pattern. Return to the frame document and on layer styles add the fresh created pattern:

STEP 5

Duplicate the border and start chopping the last layer using the poligonal marquee tool.

And more use different shapes it’s not hard
